So I do personally have an accessibility reason, BUT that doesn’t even matter because Bungie allows it regardless, whether we the players like it or not.Īnyway, I just wanted to provide some of that info. I personally do this because I’m a professional guitarist and I have had issues with tendinitis, and using m&k is better for my situation than controller. Additionally, it’s worth using that all m&k inputs are translated to controller signals. I realize that many people in the pvp community are opposed to this use… but bungie isn’t. Additionally, I’ve used Cronus to allow me to use m&k on my PS. There is no conceivable argument against that. So I use Cronus to allow me to use my xbox elite 2 controller in Destiny. I play on PS and want a paddle controller. I myself have only used it in ways that bungie permits. it was a person needing an accessibility feature who initially asked and received an answer, but the answer was given as a universal principle, not a specific allowance for that person).įinally, you didn’t ask- but I’ll mention how I personally have used Cronus. In fact, bungie has explicitly allowed Cronus in pvp even including auto-fire scripts, BECAUSE of these reasons, but not limited to the scope of these scenarios (i.e. It’s also worth noting that Cronus is an important device for accessibility for those with disability or other problems with using a standard controller. But regardless of that, as a person who owns a Cronus and knows how it works, I’ve never once gone into a match and thought of my death “he landed that shot because he was using Cronus.” But my opinion doesn’t matter, only Bungie’s does. Again, it might be cheating (bungie should clarify, though I doubt they will). I think a lot of people are afraid of something they shouldn’t really be. Aside from the fact that I wouldn’t take these scripts into pvp because I don’t think it’s right, I’ve also never been tempted to do so. So many people think they’ll get some kind of better aim assist or tracking or that recoil will actually be canceled from their guns or something like that. BUT it’s also worth noting that while I’ve never used these scripts in public games (I refuse to because I think it’s unethical), I have tried them in patrols (pve) and private matches and the advantages promised on the box are far oversold. And I don’t condone using scripts like anti-recoil (which, by the way, is a macro that inputs a pre-determined value to your right thumbstick any time you hit fire) or things like that. Yes, a lot of people use these devices to cheat (or at least attempt to cheat). I just want you to have facts.Īfter that, there are a couple things to consider. Then they can decide for themselves with correct information whether to be outraged or upset or not care, etc… I don’t care what your (or anyone else’s) end reaction is. I’m involved in these conversations because there’s a lot of misinformation out there and I simply want people to understand how it works. First, let me say that I’m not by any means a champion of using Cronus. For now, we can assume other games are likely to follow suit.So I’m going to say a couple things here, and they may or may not speak to what you’re thinking about. I'm in contact with Bungie now about potential bans for using cheating hardware, and will make sure to update this page if the company puts out an official statement. Since the anti-hardware cheat trend began, Cronus Zen eBay listings have been popping up all over, with people trying to flog the devices cheap before the ban spreads to too many other games.īungie looks to be the next to crack down, and told The Verge a couple of months back that the use of these devices is "something we are currently investigating.” Players must remove the attached hardware device and restart Fortnite to continue playing." When detected, players will receive an in-game warning. "The use of hardware that provides, or is intended to provide, a competitive advantage is not allowed.
